Covid 19

Health and safety in the studio

  • Students will be coming into my in-home yoga studio, therefore, I will be taking extra precautions with ALL students...no exceptions!
  • Before each student comes into the studio, the floor is vacuumed, cleaned and sanitized. Each student will have assigned to them; bolster(s) with covers, clean/disinfected blocks, clean/disinfected strap, clean/disinfected chair (if needed), clean blanket(s) once a student uses a blanket(s) I bring them home where they are laundered.
  • Between each student there will be a 30 minute period of where I clean and disinfect the studio space.
  • Students may bring their own mats, however, I will require students to clean their mat with alcohol wipes before using mat in studio space. If you'd rather not clean your mat with an alcohol wipe, I have mats that have been cleaned and disinfected that you're free to use.
  • I wear latex free gloves for any physical adjustments.
  • I have had the J & J vaccine, and also the J & J Booster, and I'll be happy to show you my proof of vaccine if you need me to.
  • Please note - I do not have bathroom facilities available at the present moment!

students responsibility

  • All students must wear a mask in the studio space, even if you've have been vaccinated. Forgot your mask, no problem I have disposable masks you can use!
  • Upon entry to the studio space please sanitize your hands at the dispenser, and clean your mat with an alcohol wipe if bringing your own mat.
  • All students MUST be vaccinated to come for in person classes. Proof of vaccination card must be shown prior to coming to class. Please see vaccine guidelines below.
  • If you find out you have been exposed to COVID, please inform the studio immediately.

Equipment and disinfecting

Air Purifier -  I have air purifier in the studio space. Air purifier facts - Medify MA-14 Air Purifier with H13 True HEPA Filter. For more information about Medify Air Purifiers please visit www.medifyair.com

Disinfecting - I use Force of Nature, for disinfecting against COVID plus other illnesses and air borne pathogens. Please read the following description copied from their website -

"Force of Nature is on EPA’s List of Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19. The EPA has invoked the Emerging Viral Pathogen policy, where disinfectants can be included on List N because they: 1. Demonstrate efficacy against a harder-to-kill virus; or 2. Demonstrate efficacy against another type of human coronavirus similar to SARS-CoV-2. Force of Nature is approved for use against SARS-CoV-2 because it has proven efficacy killing Norovirus, which is a harder-to-kill virus. Force of Nature can be used against COVID-19 when used in accordance with the directions for use against Norovirus on hard non-porous surfaces. Refer to the CDC website for additional information. The directions for use are: Pre-clean surface of any soil or residue so that the disinfectant can come into contact with 100% of the surface. Spray Force of Nature on the surface until thoroughly wet, let sit for 10 minutes, then let air dry or wipe with clean cloth or towel."

Q & A

Q. Why do I have to be vaccinated to come to an in person class?

A. You are coming into my house - I have Asthma, and I get bronchitis, and two members of my family have Polycystic Kidney Disease! I also teach Early Childhood Yoga to children under the age of 5 years old every morning, who cannot be vaccinated against COVID. If you are unable to come to an in person class, you don't need to miss out as I can also teach you online.

Q. I cant wear a mask for medical reasons, can i still come to class?

A. Currently I'm only having clients who can wear a mask and who are vaccinated for in person classes. However, I can still help you in your practice by teaching you online.

Q. I was exposed to someone who had COVID, but I'm vaccinated can I still come to class?

A. NO, as stated you are coming into my house and I want to protect myself and my family members. Please note third bullet on list, you may not come into the studio until proof of a negative test result, which must be a PCR test, not an at home test.

  • Get tested if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Get tested 5-7 days after close contact with someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19.
  • Wear a mask indoors in public for 14 days after exposure to a close contact or until a negative test result from a PCR test.
  • Isolate if they have tested positive for COVID-19 in the prior 10 days or if they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Follow any applicable federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations.

Q. I have a natural rubber or Eco mat, and I don't want to use alcohol wipes on my mat.

A. I understand I also have a Manduka Eco mat, most of the cleaners for the natural mats are not on the EPA list of approved cleaners/disinfectant for COVID. Therefore, I provide mats in the studio that are cleaned and disinfected for students to use if necessary.

Q. Why do you have 30 minutes between classes for cleaning?

A. I want to make sure that every student feels confident and safe coming into the studio space, allowing 30 minutes between each student allows adequate time for cleaning and disinfecting solutions to do their work!

Q. I'm very sensitive to chemicals, where can i find out about the ingredients that's in your cleaner?

A. Great question, I use Force of Nature Cleaning Solution, you can check out their website at www.forceofnatureclean.com

Please Do Not Come to in Person Class if you have the following symptoms;

  • Fever
  • Runny nose
  • Cough
  • Headache
  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Body aches

And as per the CDC 12/15/2021...

People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Anyone can have mild to severe symptoms. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

This list does not include all possible symptoms. CDC will continue to update this list as we learn more about COVID-19. Older adults and people who have severe underlying medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness.

I understand it can be hard to tell especially those runny noses around allergy time here in the Pacific Northwest, so here is a checker from the CDC to help you if you if you're unsure whether you have COVID or not.
