Why The Young Children's Yoga and Movement Method™?

When we connect learning to movement it has a multiplicity affect upon children’s development. Here is a quote from Michigan State University

“Research suggests that promoting movement and activity in young children can help increase memory, perception, language, attention, emotion and even decision making. When language is combined with movement, learning increases 90 percent. Movement has also been shown to help calm and promote alertness in infants.” 

Not only does a yoga and movement adventure need to benefit children’s development, it also needs to connect with children’s interests, and their explorations in the world around them. Including subjects like; science that helps to foster a deeper learning of nature, animals, and math that helps with problem solving, and developing their own spatial awareness. All these can be incorporated in a yoga and movement adventure in creative ways, that young children can connect with.
